Ｎｏ４ Ｌａ ＢＯＣＡ(ボカ地域)のカラフルな家の一つ(ベストショットの一つ)。ボカとは口（河口）を指す。ここは古くからの港町で、イタリアその他からの移民は１９世紀に粗末な材料で家を建てて住み、牛肉の加工と積み出しで辛苦をなめた。家の色がカラフルなのは、ボカ生まれの画家（キンケラ・マルティン）が原色を使って壁や屋根を塗り分けたからである。船を塗装した後に残った様々な塗料で塗ったのである。13.11.2005撮影。
This is one
of my best shots showing a colorful house in the Boca. Boca means “mouth”in Spanish. The Boca is at the
mouth of the river La Plata. The port town became home to Spanish and Italian
immigrants in the 19th century.
Many came here during the booming 1880s and worked in processing and
shipping famour Argentine beef to Europe. The house appears colorful because
Benito Quinquera Martin, a famous local painter, painted the house with primary
colors, splashing leftover paints on the walls and roofs. Please watch the
colorful sidings.
ボカはタンゴ発祥の地として世界的に有名である。タンゴの背景には貧しい漁民（イタリア移民など）の郷愁や哀愁があり、港の酒場で身を寄せ合わせて踊るダンスがタンゴの起源である。スペインから独立したのは１８１６年であり、その３年後（１８１９）年の様子がこの絵に見られる。すでに街頭でタンゴが見られた。
The boca is the birthplace of the
tango so famous in the world. The tango is a reflection of the nostagila of the
immigrant laborers and a relief from hard labors in the bar. It was in 1819 that Argentina became
independent from Spain. The picture depicts the scene in 1819, three years after.
Tango was already performed on the street.
