No ９ 二階が私たちの住まいです。家主は一階に住み、私たちの面倒を大変よく見てくれます。This is our new house. The landlady lives downstairs, taking good care of us.

家主（写真の右端）は親切で愛情に富んでいます。私たちとの英語による会話を楽しみ、スペイン語を丁寧に教えてくれています。分からない時は分かるまで辛抱強く教えてくれます。そうやって誤解をなくし、なんとか意思の疎通が出来ています。問題を残して次の日を迎えることはありません。互いに心から理解しあうことは本当に嬉しいことです。なごやかな接触が毎日であり、この家に住むようになって「本当に、良かった」と夫婦共に心から実感しています。写真は２階の私たちの居間で撮影しました。家主（アウローラさん）が手にしているのは私が差し上げた水彩画（ブエノスアイレスNo７の「ジャガランダと新緑」）です。

Our new residence is upstairs. The landlady lives downstairs. She is very kind and full of love towards us. She enjoys conversation in English and teaches us Spanish very kindly. How patient she is when we fail to understand Spanish. Today’s problems is solved today, with no problem lingering tomorrow. How pleasant it is to understand one another heartily. We meet every day and communicate cordially. The atmosphere is very amicable. We really feel at home in this house. How happy we are! The photo is taken upstairs in our living room. The water-color painting our landlady has is a gift from me(“Jagaranda and Fresh Green” in No7 of Buenos Aires).

一階の入り口は亀さんの住処でもある。元から住む亀さんとも私たちは仲良しになっている。Downstairs lives a tortoise outside, who is a friend of us already.

毎日ごみを出すのは私の日課。集積かごが高いのは野良犬が近づかないためである。家の前の歩道の整備は家の持ち主の責任であり、このようなごみいれのない家も多い。そういう家は道路の上に家庭ごみを置くので、野良犬にビニール袋が食いちぎられることもある。
It is my responsibility to dispose of garbage daily. The metal cage is above the ground, so that no dogs can approach. Each house is responsible for the cleaning of the pedestrian road in front of the house.
